RHS's annual R-Thon Dance is set to take place on Saturday, February 22, 2025, providing Ridley High School students with an opportunity to celebrate their collective efforts in raising funds and awareness for childhood cancer and cardiac research. The event also supports families receiving care at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP).
As part of this year’s initiative, the school is selling commemorative t-shirts to the entire Ridley community. The highlight of the evening will be the Community Hour, scheduled from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, during which the DeLuca, Hanson, Blohm, and Greto families will be honored. These families will share their inspiring stories, adding a heartfelt dimension to the night’s celebration.
This year’s campaign takes on a special meaning with youth t-shirts being designed in red to support Lucy DeLuca, a Ridley Elementary student currently awaiting a heart transplant at CHOP. To amplify this message, February—Heart Awareness Month—has been chosen as the backdrop for the “Love For Lucy” campaign. Elementary students are encouraged to purchase these shirts and wear them to show their support. Additionally, the Ridley School District will host a “Wear Red Day” on February 7th, inviting students and staff to don red apparel. Students are also encouraged to wear their shirts on Friday, February 21, as a lead-up to the R-Thon event.
Shirts can be purchased through The Locker, with adult options available in a variety of colors. https://thelocker.biz
The Ridley School District invites families and community members to join the R-Thon Community Hour to honor these families and celebrate the spirit of togetherness and support. Your participation helps to further important causes and uplifts our local families in need.
Come be a part of this special evening as we unite to make a difference!
