Ridley Middle School Dress Code
Coverage requirement: Clothing must cover areas from one armpit across to the other armpit, down to approximately 3 to 4 inches in length on the upper thighs (finger tips extended-see image). Tops must have full shoulders and midriffs covered. Any rips or tears in clothing must be outside of the required area of coverage. This applies equally to both the front and back of the attire. See through or mesh garments must not be worn without appropriate coverage underneath that meets the minimum requirements of the dress code.
Clothing and accessories are not permitted if they:
Sleepwear, pajamas, pajama bottoms, slippers, and/or blankets are prohibited.
Have sexually suggestive writing/pictures.
Advocate violence.
Advertise or promote the use of tobacco, alcohol or drugs.
Have double meaning wording or obscene language.
Are disrespectful or offensive to others.
Footwear must be worn at all times. All footwear must have an enclosed toe with a back and/or secured heel. Certain types of footwear may be required for physical education or in lab or shop settings for protective purposes.
Headwear: Hats, hoods, sunglasses, and visors are not permitted. Hoods must remain down at all times when inside of the building. No headwear may be worn indoors without prior written administrative approval. Religious dress is excluded from this policy.
